Honest musings…

It’s been a while since I blogged. Sorry.

But it’s been quite a year. Quite a tough one, in fact.

I’ll be honest with you - recently, there have been a couple of times where I’ve thought about quitting. A whole mix of things, from losing my mum to the cost of living crisis, have really impacted on me and the survival of Magic Box.

And I know a lot of kids’/school activity providers are struggling right now. Everyone is. It’s not easy.

But recently, a couple of people have said things to me that make me realise why I do what I do. Why I love doing what I do. And why I can’t stop. They won’t know who they are - but thank you.

I also know that my lovely mum would not want me to walk away from all that I’ve created over the past (nearly) 10 years. She loved kids. Worked with and inspired many of them for years.

So, this is not my usual upbeat blog post about MB news. I’m being searingly honest - but mainly I want to say thank you. For all the support the Box has received over the years. 

And I also want to make a very gentle plea - if you ever go to any session/activity/party and you enjoy it, please tell others, spread the word and write a review, if that’s possible. This is how the good providers out there will survive.

Finally, I know that the Box needs to keep developing, needs to create and innovate…and this is my plan.

Just bear with me as I push on through the next few months. Don’t worry - I’m not going anywhere…
